OBJECTIVES

  • To introduce a communication tool that will be the Voice of KZN Local Government
  • To Educate Communities and Key Stakeholders on the work of Municipal Councillors
  • To serve as a Voice for Local Government Association in KZN
  • To provide interaction between Municipalities and the Business Sector
  • To provide news on activities of Provincial and Local Government agencies
  • To ensure the correct information on major issues reaches communities
  • To provide a medium for the monitoring of critical projects.

EDITORIAL CONTENT

To obtain the objectives, the editorial corverage in KWANALOGA NEWS will be based on:

  • Providing coverage of programmes driven by KWANALOGA.
  • Introducing Municipal leaders to a broader audience.
  • Showcasing the positives projects that are undertaken by KWANALOGA’S partners and all stakeholders.
  • Showcasing good practice to provide an example of measuring news to challenges.
  • Providing critical information on achievement and challenges of Local Government.
  • Providing detailed information about the projects that municipalities are undertaking to meet their mandates and service delivery.
  • Providing an insight into the requirements needed to be met by Municipalities to ensure clean financial year audits.
  • Providing an analysis and debate on Impact of Government expenditure.

EDITORIAL

The Editorial committee will comprise senior local government officials and a Monthly planning meeting will be held to determine the content of each issue and to discuss suggestion. Editorial contributions will be made from Local Government and the Private Sector.

  • KWANALOGA NEWS will be  published every 2 Months.
  • A4 Size.
  • 40 Page magazine.
  • 10 000 copies.

DISTRIBUTION & TARGET

Distribution of KWANALOGA NEWS will be Provincial and National.  The distribution structure will ensure that KWANALOGA NEWS reaches a broad audience and provide a powerful communication medium.

The publication will be distributed to a target audience such as:

  • 61 Municipalities in KZN.
  • Local, Provincial and National Government Departments.
  • Embassies.
  • Libraries.
  • Tertiary Institutions.
  • All CEOs and top management of the Municipal Associations.
  • CEOs and Executive Managers of the Private Sector.
  • General population of South Africa (including academic institutions).

INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

KWANALOGA NEWS will be produced and published to International quality standards.  

ADDED VALUE:

  • Funds raising strategies will include annual lectures, seminars, awards ceremonies, and conferences.
  • Every issue will be preceded by a lunch event – key stakeholders will be invited.
  • Annual awards ceremonies – in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government, and other partners.
